Few but interesting words by K. This band is simply essential. And sadly, dead...

We had in an earlier interview a discussion about today’s death-metal bands and we both prefer this dark, “ungrunting” death-metal from Hell like REPUGNANT, PENTACLE, THRONEUM or SADISTIC INTENT ! Did you discover this year some new killer hordes in this genre ? You should check in my opinion VACARME, OSSUAIRE and BLOODSHED from France, they are worth listening I think.
Actually yes, I have discovered some new ones and they are NECROVATION, ALLFATHER, FACE OF EVIL, NECROS CHRISTOS and CHURCH BIZARRE. That’s the ones that spring to mind right now atleast. They ought to be checked by any one who is into this kind of Dark Death Metal.
Aaaaaargh I’m still an old disgusting bastard who loves vinyl shits and what ??!! 3 (three, drei, trois !!!) LPs this year in the KAAMOS camp !!! Oh shit a 10’’ (the godly demo !) and both the albums !!!! Which label did put these masterpieces out ? Are you satisfied with the final result ? Are these releases limited editions ?
I actually just today received the Lucifer Rising vinyl and it turned out way beyond expectation. Magnificent is a word that would belittle it. Just to see the cover in the 12” size is hypnotizing. But yes, all our releases have now been issued on vinyl. The “Curse of Aeons” demo was done by Nuclear Winter productions and it is a gatefold 10” limited to 666 copies. And the two full-lengths have been released as really high-quality gatefold editions by Imperium productions from Germany. The debut is limited to 500 copies and Lucifer Rising to 1001. All have heavy vinyl, heavy cardboard, and poster. So to be honest it feels as the releases have come full circle now.
I know you played live several times this year, how were these gigs ? Crowd response ? Did you attempt some gigs as a spectator ? Did you throw some (hopefuly empty ?) bottles at some live fuckers’ face ?
Some gigs were great and others not so great. And the same can be said about the crowd. As for gigs I’ve attended, the two most memorable ones were MORBID ANGEL and ROOT, NIFELHEIM. Oh, and MORTUARY DRAPE, BARATHRUM and UNPURE. But no bottles were thrown.
Are you still working with Candlelight ? How did happen your collaboration ? About the promotion and stuffs ?
Yes we are still working with Candlelight. They approached us after we had released the “Curse of Aeons” demo. At that time we were discussing deals with several companies and we decided to settle for Candlelight. Promotion is ok, but I personally wish it was a bit better in Europe. US has done a great job.
I know that you surely will tour France and some other countries in 2006 ! Please a few words about that. I can’t wait to see / meet you again. Last time was a bit “overcrowded” for me...
Well, the “tour” that you refer to was cancelled, alas. But it looks as we will come to Paris regardless. Both Jan from BLISS OF FLESH and Battleskr’s have put a lot of energy into making it happen. Yet, time shall tell about this.
You will be in this issue “confronted” with bands, labels, zines amongst others : Snakebite Prods (death-metal label from France), ANTAEUS (total black-metal gods), Paul DiAnno (heavy-metal Titan), BLOODSHED (dark death-metal aus Frankreich), death, black, thrash, brutal grind bands... I would like to know what do you think about open-minded (like the elders who did mix hxc, heavy, thrash, grind, whatever violent it was) zines and BM-only / DM-only zines... Some labels never wanted to distribute Dead Church (my first zine) because of the presence of BM or DM on some pages... Your opinion ? It’s just all about METAL isn’t it ? A real PASSION....
I think it’s bullshit. There are DM bands that are 10x more dark and satanic then 90% of BM, as well as vice versa. I know that there are people that divide it the way that you wrote and it’s up to them. I don’t really care. I don’t see them as different genres. Perhaps they ought to take a look into some older zines that covered both ROTTING CHRIST (early), as well as SEANCE. In the end, quality will not submit to peoples ideas on what is BM or DM.
What are the last releases you’ve bought and what do you think about them ? Don’t you think this “scene” is overpopulated ? I mean 38741 good ( ?) discs a year is a bit hard to follow isn’t it ?
The latest ones I got was just last week and they were as follows, ABSU - Mythological Occult Metal, SADISTIK EXEKUTION - Fukk II and Magus, BARATHRUM - Okkult and Legions of Perkele. And I think they are awesome, all of them. There is nothing like SADISTIK EXEKUTION (so incredibly wicked) and ABSU I have been into since they released VITRIOL. And being the ABSU fan I am, I of course needed this compilation of rare material. As for BARATHRUM, I like their later stuff much more then the early due to the harsh and metallic sound. The scene has always been overpopulated but it feels as if it had better taste way back. And who cares if there is twice as many good records then what you mentioned. We are not interested in good albums. Only great and brilliant ones, and they don’t come many a year.
Thanx for this updating session, end as you wish and don’t forget to invite something to die while reading this zine ! See ya soon, be it backstage or in Hell !!
Thanks for your support Ged. Lucifer is Risen !
